Christina C. Huston

Christina is licensed to practice law in Texas state courts and in the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts.  She practices Health Law, primarily defending hospital personnel in malpractice litigation, contract disputes and personal injury litigation filed against hospital facilities, and the defense of professional negligence in all specialties before state regulatory Boards.

Christina holds an advanced law degree in Health Law, having received her LL.M. summa cum laude in 2013 in addition to her J.D. (2007) from the University of Houston Law Center.  She also graduated summa cum laude and Phi Kappa Phi from the University of Houston (B.A., English).  She is a member of the Health Law Section of both the American Bar Association and the Texas State Bar, as well as the American, South Texas, and Greater Houston Societies of Healthcare Risk Management. 

 

Christina is on the Health Law Council of the Houston Bar Association and a previous member of the HBA IDEA Committee (bringing attorneys and physicians into local elementary schools to advise students of the potential physical and legal problems of drug use) and the Gender Fairness Committee.  She is a member of the Association of Women Attorneys, served as Chair or Co-Chair of the AWA Judicial Reception 2009-2013, and is a recipient of the Association’s Tiffany Star Award.  She also presents at continuing medical education seminars and in-hospital CEU regarding HIPAA and the Texas Privacy Act, proper documentation, and responding to criminal and CPS trial subpoenas and document requests.

 

Christina and her husband, Ralph, live in Houston.  She has two children and two step-children -- Erin, James, John, and Alex -- and a number of babies she spoils rotten, including five grandbabies and one niece -- Jami, Ella, Gracie Rose, Alistair, Claire, and Nico.  She follows a strict "Ask & You are Gonna Hear All About It" policy for all of them and a number of other babies that call her "Bella."  Christina loves to travel, especially if there is a little blackjack involved. She enjoys Astros baseball games, reading, college football, and is a season ticket holder at, and Patron of, the Alley Theatre.
